game starts but before the command screen comes it ends

Did you install any mod or did you change any graphical setting recently?
Y'all tin can try to delete the gta_sa.set file (which is in C:\Users\Yourusername\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files folder) and try to run the game as an administrator.
